No Increase to Hawkesbury Parish Precept for Next Financial Year
On 17th January the Parish Council finalised and approved their budget for April 2022 – March 2023. A major part of the income is from the Precept.
The precept is the parish council's share of the council tax. The precept demand goes to South Gloucestershire Council, which collects the tax for the Parish Council. The 'Precept' is converted into an amount per Council Tax Band that is added to the Council Tax bill.
The Parish Council is pleased to advise that the precept for the coming Financial Year will be held at the same level as the current financial year.
Chairman Chris Harding commented "It's been a tough couple of years for everyone in the community and with household bills currently set to rise even further over the coming months – particularly for heat and light – we felt it was important to continue to keep tight control of costs without reducing our services and support locally. As a result, we have prepared a budget that does this without asking the community for an additional precept amount over last year".
